While cruising the back roads Saturday my friend Randy and I talked over our radios about how cars should be talking to each other so we’d know if someone was coming around a blind corner. Yes, that’s tied to self-driving cars but it doesn’t have to be, and it’d be easy to retrofit the hardware onto older cars.

Just do it, somebody, please.

Yeah some clever systems could be installed as a separate unit, classics included. Well I think it was Hitachi or Mitsubishi in Japan that did a study, they said if all cars could talk to each other and a central hub a lot of problems could be solved, including 60% less traffic without changing the number of cars because they knew where they were all going, instead of a bunch of smart monkeys trying to screw each other over.

Well they did a good job, the flat planks are good for the wheels and the rest is higher up, gives you a good track to stay on as long as you aren’t drunk or devoid of skill.

Yes and no. It does have only one seat but the car doesn’t actually exist.

Some of those types of wheels did have a solid rubber layer, others had a textured metal surface. I’ve seen them up close sitting in some displays.
